For the second week in a row, the Ramblers have swept the conference players of the week honors after taking on Wright State this past weekend. After taking the win in technical fashion, the Ramblers have started the season 2-0 for the first time since their revival in 2012.
Sophomore WR #6 James Rodriguez was named the Conference Offensive Player of the Week after hauling in 6 receptions for a total of 70 yards. Rodriguez also added a fumbled recovery for a touchdown on the defensive side of the ball.
On the other side of the ball, Junior Defensive End #50 Conor Deal had a stellar performance which earned him the Conference, as well as the NATIONAL, Defensive Player of the Week award. Deal was everywhere on the field racking up 10 solo tackles with 5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Deal missed most of the 2015 season with a leg injury and is looking to make up for lost time.
The Ramblers will open up conference play as they host their divisional rival, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, on Sunday the 16th at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL with a 1pm kickoff.
